Is Mane & Tail shampoo safe for the hair?

yeah thats what its for

it strengthens your hair, makes it shiny, and sometimes thickerIs Mane %26amp; Tail shampoo safe for the hair?
Mane and tail is absolutely incredible. It makes your hair extremely soft, healthy, silky, and shiney! %26lt;3 I use it , and I straighten my hair everyday, and it made it so much more healthier.

%26amp; It is safe for humans, they've re-done it so that humans could get the same effect horses do, but safely. =]Is Mane %26amp; Tail shampoo safe for the hair?
I've used it before, and it makes my hair super soft and shiny. It smells good too. I think it's all natural.
I bought two huge bottles of Mane %26amp; Tail shampoo and conditioner off of Amazon and used it for a while. I didn't see anything too different or significant happen to my hair. It's okay for me but I like Dove because it gives me thicker, silkier hair.

It's made to be safe for human hair now. There are certain types of Mane %26amp; Tail now that they are making (Moisture, herbal, etc) so that it's better for human hair but I just ran out of the conditioner and have a bit of the shampoo left so I'm using Dove conditioner and I kind of can't wait to get rid of the last few drops of Mane %26amp; Tail. My hair doesn't feel as luscious.

  • How safe is waterless kitten shampoo?

My kitten always licks her fur after I put it on her so I am concernedHow safe is waterless kitten shampoo?
well, if it was made for kittens, it can't be too harmful, the people who invented it were not stupid, they know cats lick themselves. but if you are worried, try using johnsons baby shampoo on her and wash it off. I've done that and it works well. And im' sure there are also other shampoos meant for cats that you can wash off. Baby cats aren't as hard to bathe as older cats, but why would you want to give a cat a bath? I've only done it in the past when she had poop on herself. But other than that, cats lick themselves clean, it's what nature intended. How safe is waterless kitten shampoo?
    it is safe, don't worry.

i've been using it on my kitten for a while now, and she has regular vet visits, and she's fine.
well first make sure you have rinsed the shampoo out really good .Then dry her off... cats do this normally to dry themselves off or read the label on the bottle.

Is it safe to shampoo your hair if you think you have a concussion?( bit of a worrier)?

    go to the doctor

Is people shampoo safe for dogs?

It's all about the pH balance.

An excellent low cost alternative to both people and dog shampoo is the original, regular blue Dawn dish washing detergent soap, found in a plastic bottle in liquid form at any store. Be sure it's the plain, original choice. It's all I use on our Shepherds -- the German Shepherd has a double coat and just a little works up plenty of suds even on her. Works perfectly -- so now the secret is out ;)Is people shampoo safe for dogs?
Human shampoo is not good for any dog. It is harsher on the skin then most shampoos because most are not tested for ingestion. Also a good tip if you would like try and use a conditoner. It will make it look really nice.Your dog would love it too.Is people shampoo safe for dogs?
I do not know. I know that they do not need it. I was told that a very mild dish soap is a good choice.
People shampoo is designed for people, not dogs. It can be very bad for your dogs skin (not to mention if he ingested any of the shampoo, which can happen). If you want to use human shampoo the only thing safe to use on a dog is anything designed for use with human infants as it is usually very mild. But I still recommend getting a dog shampoo.
No not really. it is full of perfumes and chemicals
the truth is that it will not hurt your dog...in the short term. that is unless it has a serious case of allergies, like my past dogs.

human hair and skin is completely different than dogs. the ph is all wrong.

i would not risk it and would just go buy some dog shampoo. there are many different brands out their-just like with human shampoo. pick the choice that is right for your dog. and in some cases their shampoo is less exspensive than ours!
just be sure to get it all off
don't they test it on animals first anyway? I've done it before and worked great
don't use it on puppies, but I've never had a problem with it on adult dogs. It's especially helpful if you use a shampoo specifically designed for hair problems- dandruff, dry hair, etc. Herbal Essences is really natural and has lots of different options.
No, I heard even baby shampoo can damage their skin
It depends on the dog if it is allergic to it or not.
baby shampoo is better NO TEARS!!! Just don't wash them too much....
It is safe but not good. Their ph is different than ours.Using it too often can mess up their skin.
Well, I don't think people shampoo actually harms dogs, but I wouldn't advise it either. One time I washed my Labrador with ';my'; shampoo, and she ended up with flakes that looked worse than dandruff. I thought maybe I had just used a bit too much on her. So the next time she was out of dog shampoo, I use mine again, but not as much. Didn't matter, she still got flakes! I even used a bit of conditioner...didn't work. Although she ';did'; end up smelling good %26amp; what a shine! still flakey, and it made her itch.
Don't get it in their eyes, ears or mouth. If you do that, it should be. Use half of what you think you should use and rinse the dog very well. It really depends on the ingredients-check them, because the dog will lick its' coat and if there is anything in there that could hurt them, that is when it will occur.
it seems fine...just make sure u dont get it in ur dogs ears or eyes
I wouldn't do that. It might make their skin breakout in a rash.
Yes, if you use really exspensive shampoo.
The only human shampoo that i know of to be totally safe for dogs is any brand of baby shampoo. Make sure to rinse the dog a couple of times to make sure you get all residue. You should do this even if you are using dog shampoo. Pay close attention to back of neck and belly when rinsing. Good Luck!
i use it on all my dogs. two of them have sensitive skin an it has actually helped it. if anyone has problems with fleas i have found that dawn dish soap actually helps get rid of them. kill the fleas they will die. but i use shampoo for them an it helps there skin if it is dry.
no it is too strong . If you absolutly must then use baby shampoo
Where as it more than likely will not poison the dog... human shampoo and soaps are not made for their skin or fur! Our shampoo is made for adult hair, I did not use baby shampoo on my daughter when she was young because of the build up left on her hair. Our shampoos have major detergents in them and they strip the hair of oils. They super dry out animal's skin and cause irritation! I use Buddy Wash by Cloudstar... I use the most gentle cleansers that I can find.

Honestly if it is cost that you are worried about... sorry this comes with being a pet owner. You have an obligation to you pet to take the best possible care of them! I have a old, deaf, blind American Cockerspaniel. She has trouble walking and she has epilipsy, but she is not in any pain. She has no trouble finding the kitty food or kitty ';treasures'; (the tell-tale litter traces on the nose give her away). We just bought her a new bed... since at 14 this is her favorite past time.

    So no to human shampoo!
Yes its safe for dogs but just make sure to wash your dogs very well.
Well, I've used people shampoo on my dogs and cats and they didn't mind. I kept it out of their eyes and rinsed it well. It probably wouldn't hurt if you had a baby shampoo- no tears variety. Hope this helps.
no way people and dog have different PH balance , unless your dog has a bad skin condition head and shoulders or selsum blue may help
I wouldn't use people shampoo on a dog. That is why they sell animal shampoo. It doesn't cost that much more to just buy what you need.
ya dog shampoo just doesnt have as good of smell or do as much
Im sure it is it was probably tested on animals

Is loreal kids shampoo safe to use on color treated hair?????

i have color treated hair, is it okay to use the loreal kids 2-in-1 shampoo? or will that wash my color out/fade it?Is loreal kids shampoo safe to use on color treated hair?????
It wont hurt it but you really should use a shampoo made for color treated hair.......... I love VIVE.......Is loreal kids shampoo safe to use on color treated hair?????
yeah its fine, but if you want the color to last longer or look better you should buy a shampoo for color treated hair

    =]

    good luck
yeah its ok, cuz that shampoo is really gentle.
all colored hair will eventually fade, especially if you dyed it red. Red fades the fastest. L'Oreal kids should be pretty safe since it doesn't sting your eyes. But i recommend shampoos and conditioners that are made specially for color treated hair. Sunsilk, Pantene, and John Frieda are good brands. Also buy a color glosser to bring shine back to damaged hair. (it happens after you color it)

When you run out of shampoo, is it safe to use laundry detergent?

Yes! Mix it with bleach and amonia to get an extra shiny look! When you run out of shampoo, is it safe to use laundry detergent?
uncle jesse! you should know better about your head of gorgeous hair

    what would elvis say?

i'd say avoid the full concentrated stuff its very strong and will leave your hair really squeaky and dry, possibly try a little dab if your hair is really filthy!

or just rinse with hot water and forget the conditionerWhen you run out of shampoo, is it safe to use laundry detergent?
i use a bar of soap on my hair. or, body wash gel, and if i don't have both of those, i really should go to the pharmacy and get some before i take a shower again
Laundry Detergent is for clothes, not hair.

    So, no.
noo only fabric softener works in hair. dont use the one with the bear on it just bc hes cute. aw i love the snuggle bear. k night
Yes it is John Stamos. Yes it is.
    and delicious and nutricious
ewww no thatll mess up your hair big time go to the store and buy some and just dont wash your hair before then!!!
No. Dish detergent works best. Just kidding.
    use gasoline.
use bar soap, I do it all the time.
Yes, just don't get any in your eyes...
    just use soap, okey dokey?
    yup
    use a flame thrower.

Is it safe to shampoo your hair a few hours after bleaching it?

  • I have always used dog wash but is it safe to use shampoo or body wash on your dogs?

Baby Shampoo is safe. But Dog skin dries out pretty fast and they get uncomfortable if you use adult or human shampoo too often.I have always used dog wash but is it safe to use shampoo or body wash on your dogs?
No I wouldn't recommend it unless it was your only option in a pinch and you didn't do it very often and that you rinsed very well. With one exception, tear free baby shampoo. I asked my vet and they said it is fine.I have always used dog wash but is it safe to use shampoo or body wash on your dogs?
Not recommended. It can irritate their skin, dry it out, cause a sensitive reaction, etc, then they start chewing on themselves and it can snowball into a big hotspot.

If you use it, make sure you rinse really really well.
No. Human pruducts are not good for dogs or animals for that matter, thats why they have there own shampoo. Stick with dog products
    I like ';Baby Shampoo';

If it is safe enough for a baby, I'd think it would safe for dogs.

Is flee shampoo safe to use on dogs?

Flea shampoos are safe to use on dogs, however they aren't very affective. The problem with fleas is them in the environment itself. You should really get a precription drug from a vet, like advantage, program or revolution. These will help kill the fleas not only on your dog but help kill them in the environment as well. It takes about 3-4 months for an environment to be ';flea free';Is flee shampoo safe to use on dogs?
Yes, of course. That's what it is made for, if you follow the directions. However, any soap will kill fleas and is less expensive too.Is flee shampoo safe to use on dogs?
It is safe. However, some shampoos have so many chemicals that it dries out the dog's skin, causing doggie dandruff. Try to get either all or mostly natural flea shampoo or shampoos that have conditioners or moisturizers. They usually aren't that much more expensive and in my opinion the natural shampoos are better to use anyway.
    I don't know. What's flee shampoo?

And why do you have a dog?
yea its meant for when they have flees dont worry about it try it and if it bothers the dog then stop using it

    good luck

i have used pantene pro-v and my hair got soooo dry, the pH was too strong for my scalp and i had dandruff everywear, I dont suggest that brand. Is it safe to use Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine 2 in 1 Shampoo + Conditioner everyday?
i use pantene every day both shampoo and conditioner and i have great hair i dont think its unsafe actually its good for your hair since it has so many vitamins
my hairstylist told me that if you have any chemical (dyeing, etc) or mechanical (constant straightening, blowdrying, etc) damage, you should not be using a 2 in 1 at all, you definately need a separate conditioner

What is safest shampoo to use everyday?

I use Pantne pro v, but ihear it is not good. What is safest shampoo to use everyday?
johnson johnson shampoo is best for everyday useWhat is safest shampoo to use everyday?
Any shampoo is harmful for your hair if you use it daily.

    twice is enough in week.

If you will use more than three times in a week your hair gets thinner.

use hair conditioner instead of shampoo.Garnier's hair conditioner is pretty good.
for most of these kind of goods like soaps shampoos toothpastes etc. its recommended generally to use any normal kind of these stuffs regularly.

medicated stuff like mediker or other strong shampoos should be avoided until recommended by a dermatologist..some people find mild herbal shampoos fit for regular usage.
There is no safest shampoo to use everyday. It just depends on your hair type, and how often you wash it.

    =)
    i use johnson baby shampoo.
don't use shampoo daily ....if you want to use it i think shikakai is the safest way

Is there a flea shampoo safe to use on children??

You should never use flea shampoo on children. If you are having trouble with fleas, you should treat the area. there is stuff you can get to put on carpet and clean all bedding in hot water and dry in dryer. also place all toys that can't be washed in garbage bags in sun for at least a week . You do much the same things as you do to get rid of lice, except you also treat all animals. Is there a flea shampoo safe to use on children??
Try and bath them more than once a week.Is there a flea shampoo safe to use on children??
NO!!!!!! Just use your shampoo, it will kill the fleas!!
    lol
any of em because if it is safe to use on your dog then it is safe to use on kids!

  • What is the safest Shampoo, Soap and body lotion to use?

I was reading an alarming article about the chemical contents found in everyday shampoos, soaps and body lotions, especially the products that claim to be ';organic.'; What are the safest personal hygenic products with no chemicals found? What is the safest Shampoo, Soap and body lotion to use?
There is a lot of argument out there about what is ';safe'; in personal hygiene products and what isn't. The biggest argument is over Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate (SLS), which is the chemical compound that makes shampoos, soaps, toothpaste, etc. foam up. SLS breaks down proteins, and in high concentrations is extremely abrasive (it is used in heavy-duty professional grade floor degreasers). Supposedly in very low concentrations, like those found in body products, it is completely safe. However, some people feel that because of the corrosive nature of the chemical, it shouldn't be applied directly to the skin. Indeed, some people are sensitive to SLS, which can cause dermatitis, mouth sores (from toothpaste), etc. but most people have no problem with it.

If you want to avoid using products that contain SLS, there are a ton of shampoos, conditioners, toothpastes, etc. out there that are SLS-free. I personally use Burt's Bees shampoo and conditioner, which is all-natural and has no SLS, parabens, or synthetic materials of any kind. Some people don't like using SLS-free ';hippie shampoo'; because it doesn't foam up the way your Suave or Pantene does, but it gets your hair just as clean, and is gentler because it uses natural sugar ester soaps instead of harsh chemicals to clean your hair and scalp.

As far as body soap, I use Dr. Bonner's pure Castile soap. It is all natural vegetable-oil based soap that is entirely organic, and it gets you very clean without using chemicals that can irritate the skin. Burt's Bees, Jason, Kiss My Face, Avalon Organics, and MANY other companies also make SLS-free, organic soaps, shampoos, etc. They are more expensive than their SLS-containing counterparts (SLS is also extremely cheap) but they're better for you and the environment, so I personally think they're worth the extra cost. What is the safest Shampoo, Soap and body lotion to use?
Kate and Joe have given you some good info.

SLS is the chemical that most are trying to avoid and as Joe said, organic is somewhat unregulated - so is the term all natural. I just saw an all natural shampoo that contained SLS - it said it was derived naturally from organic sources??!!

I use EcoGinesis Naturals which are completely chemical free. They are available online and have a line of body lotions etc as well as shampoo and conditioner.
You have a better chance of dieing from walking around outside breathing polluted air then dieing from washing yourself.
    stop overreacting

Is human shampoo safe for guinea pigs?

I just adopted a New guinea pig and i wanted to know if human shampoo is safe for guinea pigs or if they will somehow react to themIs human shampoo safe for guinea pigs?
Yes, mild shampoo, like baby shampoo or simple Suave shampoo without a lot of additives is ok. Just keep baths to a miniumum, no more than one time in a month or two.

Guinea pigs actually are quite clean, and smell like new mown hay, as long as they are kept in clean pine pellets or on the lawn in nice large pens. They don't really need baths, but like a cat, will groom themselves. They do need monthly treatment with ivermectin to keep lice or mites away.

I have about 35 fancy Guinea Pigs. My grandson and I started raising them because the pet stores in a 50 mile radius had very few, and poor colors and quality . So we figured we'd help bring quality TSW Americans, Cresteds, Silkies, and Peruvians back to California.

Guinea pigs are great pets, and very vocal and interactive once they see you as the bringer of treats. Much more fun as pets than hamsters. Great little gentle animals. They don't bite, they don't climb, they don't dig, and the coo, giggle, and squeek to comunicate with their people. I have 12 grandchildren and they're great kids pets. Kids love to feed them. You can email me from my profile. Is human shampoo safe for guinea pigs?
no, it's not safe. It will dry their skin about because their skin is very delicate. You can buy dog or cat shampoo, thats what I use.

Just another tip, don't bathe them to much, only about once a month or their skin will dry out and it will irritate them alot,

    hope I helped ;)
    http://www.diddly-di.fsnet.co.uk/Shampoo鈥?/a> hope it helped :)
Don't use human shampoo, use rodent shampoo you can get from petshops.
No its not safe, my friend did that and it killed his guinea pig. They make bunny shampoo that is for small critters that works great, its sold at petco/ petsmart walmart
No way is human shampoo suitable, you need to get a very gentle pH shampoo from a pet store
Proabably will dry out their skin or irritate it but I used to wash my dogs with Vo5 so..

Is sergeant's shampoo and conditioner safe for 8 week old puppies?

I use it on my puppy who's very close to that age, and I have used it since she was around 5 weeks. My vet not only says it is okay to use, she recommends it.Is sergeant's shampoo and conditioner safe for 8 week old puppies?
Puppies can start being weaned as soon as they start getting teeth. I recommend weaning as early as five weeks, starting gradually. Offer them very moistened puppy chow. A nursing puppy with teeth is very painful for the mother...Give her a break and start them early...As far as the shampoo, it is fine...just avoid eyes...To be on the safe side, read the shampoo instructions. I know you aren't supposed to use it on the mother while she has nursing puppies...Is sergeant's shampoo and conditioner safe for 8 week old puppies?
I personally wouldn't use it. I do know that Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo works AWESOME and kills fleas too! Good Luck!
do not give dog bath this early mother dog will keep pups clean
It says right on the bottle what ages it is safe for. Read it. If it does not say safe for puppies over 6 weeks, then find one that does say that. There are many that are safe.
It should say on the bottle whether or not it is safe. You could also check with the vet, a groomer, or the breeder. They should know.
Stay away from Sergeants and Hartz shampoos..they are crap!

Get a mild puppy shampoo and conditioner. I believe Petco and Petsmart sell Fresh n Clean and Bio Groom shampoos ( I know they sell other brands, but can't recall what..when you go in, ask the groomers there)...those are much better quality than Sergeants.

If there are no ingredients on the label and no ';Safe for puppies over____weeks'; don't buy it.

The puppy is 8 weeks old...no reason you cannot give it a bath. It's best to start them out young and get them use to it now.
Unless your pup is covered in poop, don't bath it, it has a mother let her do the work.
You can use any tearless dog shampoo, if you use conditioner, use it only on the body and always avoid the eyes, even when the dog is older.
    check da label.lol

If i have to wash my hair everyday...what shampoo will be safe?

im planning to exercise everyday and i want to know what shampoo will do less harm,,,,because i know it is not good to wash everyday!

thanks! If i have to wash my hair everyday...what shampoo will be safe?
Use a moisturizing shampoo like Herbal Essences Hydralicious or Aussie Protect and Soften. Both products make your hair so soft and don't contain any parabens. (Parabens are chemicals which are thought to be dangerous and are potentially related to cancer.)

I've been washing my hair everyday for as long as I can remember and haven't noticed any problems. In fact, I tend to break out all over my face and neck if my hair goes greasy and unwashed. You should be fine!If i have to wash my hair everyday...what shampoo will be safe?
I use Aussie Moist. It doesn't dry my hair out at all.

Is it safe to use lice or dog shampoo while pregnant?

my child has gotten lice from school and i am afraid of getting it as well.Is it safe to use lice or dog shampoo while pregnant?
yes it is safe to use. I had to go through the whole routine when I was pregnant with my first child. If you are still a little unsure you can always try mayo. You put mayo all over your hair, coating all the hair. Next you put plastic wrap around the hair. Leave the mayo on for about 1 hour then wash it twice. Go through your childs hair with a metal nit comb. You probably want to use a detangling spray to make it less painful. Pull every single nit out of the hair. This can take some time, but it's worth it. I would do this every 3 or 4 days for 2 weeks, plus spray all furniture with lice spray, put all stuffed animals, pillows, etc in plastic bags for 2 weeks and wash all bedding in hot water. Lice are horrible to get rid of and the over the counter stuff really doesn't work all that well anymore. Good LuckIs it safe to use lice or dog shampoo while pregnant?
    yes it is safe
These are things as a pregnant mother you should avoid. If someone has lice let someone else take care of your children for you as far as getting rid of it. The dog shampoo as well I would avoid using because of the chemicals. Although I have had family that used Johnson's baby shampoo on their indoor dogs and it cleaned them up fine and it was ok for her to use while she was pregnant. Maybe you could try that. (NO it does not harm the dog!)
The dog shampoo I have do not use on puppies and pregnant and lactating dogs. So no to the dog shampoo. Although its applied to the dog it still gets on your hands and if you cant use it on them why get it on yourself.
    http://www.netwellness.org/question.cfm/鈥?/a>

    check this out!
I would talk to your care provider first but from what I understand it is fine so long as you're in a well ventilated area
NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely not!!! We had a family come in to the ER for lice infection when I was pregnant. They all had to be de-loused. When we called for the Nix the pharmacist told me not to go anywhere near the stuff. Let someone else do it.

Is it safe to use shampoo on your pubes?

I'm sure it is, i don't see why it wouldn't be ok.Is it safe to use shampoo on your pubes?
Sure! Although pubes don't need attention like that, it's not going to die if you use shampoo! You shouldn't get an infection either, as long as you don't get it too far up there. My advice, just shave or wax it off. It seems to be a whole lot easier for most people! Is it safe to use shampoo on your pubes?
ew lol i dont think so cuz it has chemicals! Lol im 13 and i know that. why owuld u want to lol do u want a fresh aroma lol :D
If you have cuts, it might sting but, it should be fine. Just be careful!
um...why wouldnt you? its hair! and for the lil girl who answered...it was a dumb answer. you wash your hair with shampoo?!!!!
Yes, but why would you want to?

How Safe is to wash ur hair with Shampoo?

1.Can u wash ur hair every day with shampoo?

    2. When u apply lotions like silk %26amp; shine, sunsilk 9 to 9, etc...do u have to wash ur hair another day or till when it can be kept appllied.

    3. When u oil ur hair,u have to use shikakai soap to remove oil from hair or is there another option. How Safe is to wash ur hair with Shampoo?
i wash my hair everyday and apply lotion to my hair and its still in one piece. it definitely safe. How Safe is to wash ur hair with Shampoo?
Probably safer then drinking the tap water!
1.if you wash your hair with shampoo every day and use too much, you could strip your hair of its natural oils

    2. i dont really use lotion on my hair it can make your hair look dead, lifless, and plastic

    3. i dont know if there is another option
It is technically safe...as in it won't set your hair on fire, or your hair won't fall out, but shampoo contains many harsh chemicals to 'clean' the hair.

One of these is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). DO NOT buy any hair product with this in as it is a very harsh cleaner and will strip away all your natural oils. It is used a a foaming agent in things that need an 'instant foam'. This chemical is used in garage floor cleaners etc., so no wonder it is bad for your hair. Just steer clear from that chemical, you should be fine.
Everyone is currently worried about sulfates, but they have been used for years and the new chemicals that help things clean aren't necessarily healthier, they are just new, so people don't recognize them as chemicals. And sulfates are washed off right after use so they don't have much time to be absorbed by skin.

I wash my hair often, but sometimes I just rewet and apply my styling products.

I don't use anything special to remove oil...just a good shampoo (with sulfates). I like Mixed Chicks because my hair is naturally frizzy.
use plain soap that should do it
The absolute best is the new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awsesome! Organix has different collections for different hair types which are all amazing!

Can't afford new furniture right now and am hoping it is SAFE to shampoo the couch and loveseat to clean them before bringing them here to the new house. Has anyone ever shampooed their couch before? Is it safe to do with regular rug type cleaners? Will the foam cushions get moldy inside? Any input or tips would be helpful... Thanks! Is it Safe to Shampoo a Couch/Loveseat?
I second the steam cleaner, and I'd probably go over it three or four times (mice! yuck!). I wouldn't use Febreze, though - that stuff is just nasty cheap perfume, it doesn't control anything.

Is it Safe to Shampoo a Couch/Loveseat?

The water will be a bit darker for some time as the color need some time to rinse out. It should stop after you washed your hair a couple of times.

i wouldn't bother with a colour shampoo because it's only really to stop bleached blonde hair going brassy, so long as you use a conditioner your hair will stay in good condition, it's the moisture in your hair that keeps the colour bright... and you said vibrant so I'm guessing that doesn't meen blonde.

  • Is it safe for a breastfeeding mom to wash their dogs in a tick shampoo?

I need to know if there is a natural wash I can use where I can wash our dogs or should I just bring the dogs to the vet for the wash...{BUT that costs money} Any info or advice I would love.Is it safe for a breastfeeding mom to wash their dogs in a tick shampoo?
You could still use the flea and tick shampoo and just use rubber gloves then there is no risk. I don't think there is a risk to begin with but it is always better to be safe than sorry. I think the rubber gloves are available at the Dollar Stores or any Walmart-type stores for just a few dollars which is much cheaper than having the dogs groomed or dipped. It might be better to buy something like frontline which is more effective than the shampoos and you will not have to repeat the treatments. They are kind of expensive but after having fleas in our house at one time its is worth it with small children. Is it safe for a breastfeeding mom to wash their dogs in a tick shampoo?
Shower after you wash the dogs. Chances are, if you ingest any, you are going to get sick. The only other way your baby can get any into their system is if it is on you. So, wash the dogs then wash yourself. I would of course, keep the baby away from the dogs until they are dry. As long as they are rinsed well it shouldn't be a problem.
Wear gloves, and wash your skin/arms well, put the clothes in the laundry. Very, very, very little of anything that goes on our skin gets into the bloodstream and then into breastmilk. I'd be more concerned that baby might suck/lick/kiss your hands or something and ingest it.

Is is safe to bathe my puppy with soap or regular shampoo?

I just washed her bed and i wanted to bathe her before letting her sleep on it but i dont have any dog shampoo yetIs is safe to bathe my puppy with soap or regular shampoo?
noIs is safe to bathe my puppy with soap or regular shampoo?
Oh! Thats a BIG NO NO!

Human shampoo and soaps can cause dryness and itching to the dog.

I'm hoping you washed her bed with NON-HUMAN detergent.

Remember when bathing a pup, first introduce to them the tub or whatever you are going to bathe them in.

Let them stand there like a few seconds.

Let them familiarize with the tub.

Repeat the process for a few days, until the pup is totally comfortable with being in the tub.

A non-slip mat will definitely needed. Makes the pup feel more secure. ;)

    -----
if i were you i would not use human shampoo on your dog because it can irritate its skin %26amp; severely hurt its eyes if it gets in them. you should just not let the dog sleep in the bed til tomorrow, %26amp; tomorrow u should run 2 the store %26amp; get dog shampoo. %26amp; u should consider getting dog shampoo for sensitive skin because some dogs have flaky %26amp; sensitive skin.
Actually, a bit of Dawn soap won't hurt the dog nearly as much as human shampoo. The pH of human shampoo, as well as the perfumes, can strip the dog's skin, and make her itchy. We use Dawn at the Humane Society shelter for a lot of dogs' first baths, because it doesn't harm their skin, and it kills fleas.
Baby shampoo would be best, and I think anything from Johnson %26amp; Johnson would be a good bet too...try to make sure that it doesn't have perfume or a smell though.

If you have unperfumed bars of soap, use that, but make sure she doesn't eat the soap because many dogs do...including my puppy.
Most dogs would rather skip bath time, but bathing plays an important role in the health of your dog's coat and skin, helping to keep your dog clean and free of dirt and parasites. And of course, there's the added benefit of making your pooch more pleasant to be around.

    http://dogtime.com/bathing.html
Basically there is no problem if it is just once. On regular basis use a dog's shampoo. Just be sure your dog has no eruption or any skin sensitivity that may be enhanced by the shampoo. I am assuming is just regular shampoo no additives.

    Best regards
Soap will probably dry out the skin. I have washed my dogs with human shampoo and followed it with human conditioner and they are fine. It is better to use a good dog shampoo though. Maybe an oatmeal shampoo. Its good for skin and coat.
Best not, it can dry out the skin, and your dog could be allergic. Just bathe her in normal water for now (or just wait until tomorrow?). Do you have any baby shampoo? That's good, as it's very gentle on the skin.
I wouldn't do it, not good for their skin.

Do you have any baby shampoo? You can use that if you want.

If not just put a dirty sheet on top and wait until you buy some puppy shampoo tomorrow.
Wouldn't use soap but shampoo yes if you read the ingredients in human shampoo and dog shampoo the same! Just want to charge you twice as much. Actually think ppl shampoo has more moisturizer!
it might dry out her skin. put a sheet or blanket over the bed so she'll sleep on that and then get puppy shampoo and then take off the sheet or blanket so there will be a basically clean bed for the clean puppy
Shampoo for humans has a different PH balance and it can irritate the puppy's skin.

You should wait until you get a puppy shampoo.
it will make there skin dry, dull in color,or even red. pet shampoo is the best for it it doesnt matter what brand as long as its for pets!!
use dishsoap then and rinse with cool water no shampoos for humans it will dry out the skin and shell itch...rinse rinse rinse...
dont use human stuff it might make your dog bald and buy the dog stuff itll be nicer for the dog

You can use Natures Miracle, it's natural and safe for cats, and cleans everything. What is a safe carpet shampoo for pets?
I wish I could help you. I never shampoo in the room with the cats. I have a big house and just keep them out. I tried to google this and Kirby.com has a pet carpet cleaner to clean after pets, but it does not say that it is safe for pets. i would really ask a vet. Maybe they can help. Most soaps and cleaners are toxic to pets. You may have to lock kitty in a carrier or bathroom until dry.

Is it safe to use a sample bottle of panteene pro v shampoo on dogs?

I used the little sample bottle on my lab-border collie mix last ngiht for her bath. And now i'm noticing her hair is coming out in clumps. What should I do to stop it?Is it safe to use a sample bottle of panteene pro v shampoo on dogs?
    Argh

YES it's safe. The pH difference between all land mammals is NOMINAL. People who show their dogs bathe their dogs weekly with Pantene. Unless your dog has super sensitive skin, it's not going to do any harm.

The pH difference crap was invented by pet supply companies so you feel compelled to use expensive pet shampoo. Dog food companies do the same thing, but people feed raw food with no issues.

Use the Pantene. It's not going to hurt the dog.

ETA: The clumpy hair is probably the tail end of her fall molt. Just brush out the clumps. Is it safe to use a sample bottle of panteene pro v shampoo on dogs?
no it wasn't safe because the ph balance is different in people shampoo and dog shampoo. but usually people shampoo would just effect the dog's skin, causing it to be itchy and/or raw.

I'm not sure panteene alone caused clumps to come out, I think there's another problem going on and would see a vet if you see any bald spots.

Are you bathing your dog often? They should only get a bath at the most every 2 weeks and every 3 weeks if exposed to indoor heating alot.

Hair loss signifies a vitamin deficiencyor allergic reactions.. start with nutrition..feed a high quality dog food (with no corn in the ingredients or other junk possibly allergen fillers) and give a raw egg once a week.

add: Meagan has no clue what she's talking about. Ask any licensed dog groomer or the vet. And dog food is nowhere near human food, geez..stop giving bad advice.

If you continue to notice clumps of hair coming out that's not normal and it's probably allergies that has nothing to do with the pantene.
Take some dish soap and wash it out then use a soothing dog conditioner to help the skin.

Human shampoo and dog shampoo are formulated specifically for the animal skin types. Dog shampoo is easier on the skin so is harmless if used on people. Human shampoo is more acidic (I think...or basic but i'm sure its more acidic) which can dry the crap out of a dog's skin.

    EDIT:

the person waay above me is talking about Main N Tail (%26amp; body). It is a shampoo/conditioner formulated for horses and other animals but works great on people too. It can be bough at Safeway, Sally's and most feed stores. Its the same formula for humans and animals so don't worry about which one you pick up.

    http://www.manentail.com/home2.asp
take your dog to a vet.. human shampoo should never be used on a dog.. dog skin and human skin is different.. the PH levels are different. Human shampoo is balanced for humans.. your dog may be having a chemical reaction to the shampoo.

    ADDED

I know someone who used human shampoo on their dog, and the animal needed to be put to sleep because it had such a severe reaction to the shampoo!
No, It dries their skin out, and plus they could have an allergic reaction to it. If you must use people shampoo, buy tail and mane. But I would use dog shampoo on your dog.

hmm I've used Johnson %26amp; Johnson No Tears Baby Shampoo, it seems to do a good enough job... but I was using it on my Poodle - not sure if that makes a difference.
No it's not safe to use human shampoo on dogs...our shampoo strips out the natural oils that dogs need in their fur. Get some real dog shampoo.
No. It dries there skin, and if they get it into there eyes it could get a bad infection.
    no

Is this shampoo safe for rabbits?

I got this stuff, it was actually for my dog, and the vet prescribed it for us, [its just a simple basic shampoo].

But, on the back, it says 'For animal use only] and it doesn't say which animal, so I'm thinking its for ALL animals, because, it didn't say in particular..

Should I use it? Is this shampoo safe for rabbits?
    hi

you really shouldn't bathe your rabbit.let alone buy a shampoo for your rabbit.

rabbits bathe themselves everyday and this is their so called ';bathe'; for themselves.rabbit fur takes time to actually dry so they catch cold very easily.

as for the shampoo,do not use the product on any animal besides dog and cats.my friend once encountered such shampoo and he used it on his ferrets.the ferret got a skin problem and almost died...

DO NOT use products you are not sure of on animals.

please do the right thing and do not bathe your rabbit.i once tried to bathe my rabbit(i was tempted to do so...) and my rabbit caught a cold.i had to take it to the vet for a week because the cold won't go away...

have a nice dayIs this shampoo safe for rabbits?
I wouldn't use it. Dog hair and rabbit hair is very different. Rabbit hair is much softer and thus more fragile so the shampoo may be too strong for the rabbit. Ask the vet or go to a pet store and ask for rabbit shampoo.

You could also use baby shampoo (human baby) because it is very gentle and wont burn its eyes.
WHAT EVER YOU DO DO NOT BATHE YOUR RABBIT IT WILL KILL IT

rabbits clean themselves if u feel the need to clean ur rabbit ther is a special mixture u place on the dirty spot and simply comb it out

please listen to me i am a rabbit breeder and i know what im talking about
You shouldn't need to use it on your bunny. Rabbits clean themselves.

If you still want to wash your bunny its better to use a shampoo designed for rabbits, you don't want to kill it.
rabbits don't usually need to be washed. They spend a lot of time cleaning them selves. I had a rabbit and we never washed it... it never stank and its fur was always in great shape.
you can use it but if you are afraid too call the vet and ask first or just use baby shampoo that shampoo can be used on anbody or any animal
The best shampoo for Rabbit is mane and tail this is what the veterinary doctor prescribed
Yea you can use that one
    Shampoo is shampoo.
no, don't use it, u should use 'small animal use' u can buy a simple shampoo for them really cheap, don't use it

You shouldn't need to bathe a rabbit. They are self cleaning. Baths can stress them out too much.
eh no dont kill your rabbit here.
Try using lye, it works best.

you shouldn't be bathing your bunny unless it has diarrhea or it really needs it

Is Coco Amine diethylamide safe as an ingredient for shampoo and other personal care products?

Cocamide DEA (or MEA or TEA) is used as a foaming agent, to make the lather. The other surfactants will generate a certain amount of suds, but this foaming agent is added to get the amount just right. Besides its foam stabilizing effects, it is also a viscosity booster (it's thick). Is Coco Amine diethylamide safe as an ingredient for shampoo and other personal care products?
DEA and MEA are usually listed on the ingredient label in conjunction with the compound being neutralized. Thus look for names like Cocoamide DEA or MEA, Lauramide DEA, etc.

These are hormone-disrupting chemicals and are known to form cancer causing nitrates and nitrosamines. These are commonly found in most personal care products that foam, including bubble baths, body washes, shampoos, soaps and facial cleansers.

Similarly, possibly the most dangerous of all ingredients in personal care today is SLS. Research has implicated SLS in damaging the immune system, especially within the skin. Skin layers may separate and inflame due to its protein denaturing properties, staying in the body for up to five days. Other studies have indicated that SLS easily penetrates through the skin and enters and maintains residual levels in the heart, the liver, the lungs and the brain.

So look for shampoos %26amp; personal care preparations that are free from Cocoamide %26amp; SLS. Good natural ones like Segals Solutions are not only free from these but also contain special vitamins and anti-oxidants.

Let them familiarize with the tub.

Repeat the process for a few days, until the pup is totally comfortable with being in the tub.

A non-slip mat will definitely needed. Makes the pup feel more secure. ;)

if i were you i would not use human shampoo on your dog because it can irritate its skin %26amp; severely hurt its eyes if it gets in them. you should just not let the dog sleep in the bed til tomorrow, %26amp; tomorrow u should run 2 the store %26amp; get dog shampoo.

What Is a good dandruff shampoo that is safe for use on dyed hair?

Head %26amp; Shoulders has a formula for dyed hair. What Is a good dandruff shampoo that is safe for use on dyed hair?
HI, a good shampoo to use that's not only good for dandruff, but

also for the scalp is TEA TREE OIL SHAMPOO, also you can use

TEA OIL DROPS, that can also be mixed with the shampoo as

well. TRY IT!!What Is a good dandruff shampoo that is safe for use on dyed hair?
Garnier Fructis(sp?) there's a special kind for dyed hair
my mother has used denorex for ever, I don't even know her true color and I am 27.
Whatever you use DON'T USE HEAD AND SHOULDERS.

Try paul mitchelle's tea tree shampoo. You can get it from any salon.
Alfaparf Hair power. My girl say that is very good again the color fade.
nizoral shampoo sold at walgreens....works really good

No. It dries there skin, and if they get it into there eyes it could get a bad infection.
    no

Flea and tick shampoo safe for people?

okay... So I was wondering if the flea and tick shampoo for dogs is safe for people... I know this probably sounds crazy, but I go outside ALOT and we have alot of ticks around my house. I used it once when I came inside and my dad told me that there were alot of ticks out. Nothing bad happened then. It seemed like an easy alternative, but I was wondering if it is harmful to people. I didn't think it was but my mom was freaking out.Flea and tick shampoo safe for people?
Yes it is harmful it can make your scalp itch even worse,Tea Tree Treatment works wonders.

Is it safe to wash my dog with human shampoo?

If so, what type?Is it safe to wash my dog with human shampoo?
    No. Not even baby shampoo.

Human skin is acidic, while dog skin is neutral. Human shampoos are also acidic, which means they will burn and irritate your dog's skin. Never use anything that wasn't formulated for dogs.Is it safe to wash my dog with human shampoo?
Yes, as long as you use Baby Shampoo. It's tearless and gentle.
no it will irritate the dogs skin, dog shampoo is inexpensive if you buy it by the gallon at www.petedge.com or www.drsfosterandsmith.com. pet edge is the cheapest I have found for ALL my dog supplies, it is 60% cheaper than an actual pet store (and the shipping is not bad and is so worth it for all the savings you will get. Please do not use human shampoo, dogs have a bad reaction and it strips their fur of the oils and things they need to protect their skin.
    No.

Human Shampoos strip the dogs natural oils, and can make them itchy and flakey.

Try a natural dog shampoo, such as an Oatmeal one. The gentler the better.
NO!!! Human shampoo is PH balanced for humans.

It will dry out a dog's skin, and can even cause irritations or allergic reactions.

Buy DOG shampoo to bathe your dog with.
The properties and purpose of human shampoos differ from that of pet shampoos. I would recommend sticking with pet specified shampoos that are available at most pet stores.

    www.petwellbeing.com
no , because it will make the dogs skin very irritated , itchy and dry .
It will not harm him if you use a gentle shampoo, like a baby shampoo but it is much better to use a dog shampoo.

Human shampoo is made specifically for humans and can irritate dogs skin.

Dog shampoo will make your dogs coat much nicer and shinier and will also be better for the skin. You can also buy special stuff like for black dogs or white dogs etc. It can even work out cheeper!
no but it is safe to use baby shampoo to make them soft and compheratable but not REGULAR human shampoo. good luck....Allie
there are dog shampoos that are made specifically for them so that they do not have skin irration from the human shampoo. dogs need different conditioning and nutrients than human hair, so i would not wash your dog with human shampoo because he will end up being miserable.
Baby shampoo is okay to use in a pinch, but it's better to use dog shampoo.
NO!human shampoos are only for humans. It makes dogs' for itchy and could give them dandruff, give them dog shampoo
i dont think it will hurt your dog but its best if you use the proper shampoo for him/her for the fur....

if im out of shampoo for dogs and my pooch needs a bath i usually rub hair conditioner (not alot) so her skin wont dry out...
yes it is okay, but i would recomend baby shampoo, or a soft shampoo like Down, and I would only wash your dog with this maybe once a week if that. I always washed my black lab with regular shampoo but we only washed him like once every three weeks, b/c too much washing drys out the skin and can be harmful. Dogs need that natural oil.
It's ok. I do it all the time.

Is it safe to use flea and tick shampoo then apply the flea and tick stuff between the shoulders?

or should i only use one of the flea and tick products? Is it safe to use flea and tick shampoo then apply the flea and tick stuff between the shoulders?
Its perfectly fine. You need to wait THREE days after the bath to apply the flea medication. You can apply it right after the bath but it's better to wait until the dogs natural oils return to the skin. This helps with the application of the flea medication. Is it safe to use flea and tick shampoo then apply the flea and tick stuff between the shoulders?
The Flea and tick Shamppos are not usually that abrassive. So it should be ok. I use it on my American Bulldog first and then apply the med between the shoulders. Never hurt him....keep in mind he is 130 lbs!
Yes! It is safe! The shampoo kills any fleas or ticks on the body and the medicine keeps them from coming back.

    I hope I helped!
Yes, but dont use Sergeant's brand ( I've seen it at Walmart ).

Does anyone know if its safe to use human shampoo on dogs to wash them?

If using human shampoo,Baby shampoo is best.It has a mild enough detergent that it wont dry out your dogs skin.Does anyone know if its safe to use human shampoo on dogs to wash them?
Yes, as long as you stay away from dandruff shampoos. Also, there may be an issue because human shampoos have strong perfumes that mask the odor of the dog. The other dogs that come in contact might be confused and become agressive (I've seen this happen).Does anyone know if its safe to use human shampoo on dogs to wash them?
Best to stick to a doggy shampoo, just because of the different skin pH. You risk drying your animals skin and some ingredients may be toxic.
use a cleaning shampoo, like Pregaine, or neutrogena.

there are special shampoos for dogs, but honestly its just marketing so you buy another one.

its pretty safe to use them.
Yes I do and I follow up with conditioner too.
i guess its okay occasionally. but someone once told me that it can make them ichy and it washes away oils that they need
Yeah, it's ok. Head %26amp; Sholders to keep Fido's danderuff down.
That depends on the dog. Some have really sensitive skin (like pomeranians) and need a specific kind of dog shampoo to keep their skin healthy. You should talk to a veterinarian or someone from a pet store
I used baby shampoo on mine, and she was fine. I was careful she didn't ingest it or get it in her eyes.
Yes I often used baby shampoo on mine . It is gentle and won't hurt their eyes if they should accdentally get some in there.
i do and my dog is just fine.
My dog has allergies so we have to be careful with what shampoo we use. Just to be on the safe side I would stick with dog shampoo.
    I don't recommend it.
use dawn liquid soap to bathe your dog with and it will kill any parasites that are on the dog. works great, i've been using it for years. and DON'T USE HUMAN SHAMPOO!!!
No its not safe it will make your dog poorly!
Yes its ok to use it on your animal. Just be sure to keep it away from getting inside his/hers ears and eyes and try not to use a color safe shampoo.
always diluted human shampoo with alot of water. detergent left on the hair will attract odors and cause itching. same with conditioner. i used to own a small animal grooming service

Is baby shampoo safe to use everyday?

I need to wash my hair everyday, or it gets oily. I have noticed that I lose alot of hair in the shower and thought that maybe switching to baby shampoo would solve the problem, since baby shampoo is said to be milder than regular shampoos. What do you think? Is it safe to use everyday? Is baby shampoo safe to use everyday?
Absolutely-baby shampoo is the right one to use if you have to use it daily its less damaging when you wash regularly- this will keep your hair clean and smell good too Is baby shampoo safe to use everyday?
yes but one question when i was pg my hair would do that like crazy and when i was one birth control it is the changes in your body. have u added something into your diet that u shouldn't. not drinking enough water. i would talk to your doctor i think it is more then just shampoo. shampoo just takes off the dirty and oil it doesnt go down that deep. i think this is a promble from the inside.
It is safe to use. I wash mine daily as well but I use Clariol Herbal Essence. I love it!!! Makes my hair feel great and doesn't hurt it one bit. I went 8 months without cutting it and had zero split ends!!! Normally you lose up to 100 hairs daily. It seems like I lose 1000. I spoke to my dr about it and he said its normal.

What volumizing shampoo is there that is safe to use everyday?

My hair gets oily the next day I wash it, so I always have to end up washing it everday. I went for weeks washing it every other day to get my hair used to not being washed everyday thinking it would get less oily, but it didnt help. So, my hair falls flat if it's not washed everyday. Do you know of any good shampoos that volumize and that is safe to use daily? Thanks! What volumizing shampoo is there that is safe to use everyday?
Oh! You're talking about Aussie shampoo and conditioner! That stuff works really well, but I personally like Fructis shampoo and conditioner. They are great for me because i have oily and limp hair too! lol but it seems to have helped a lot! What volumizing shampoo is there that is safe to use everyday?
i dont remember what its called but on the commercials on tv its the one with the kangaroo lol

  • Color safe shampoo and conditioner?

What's the best color safe shampoo and conditioner that money can buy? Also, what are some cheaper ones?

I'm already a fan of TIGI Bed Head and Catwalk styling products. How are the shampoos?Color safe shampoo and conditioner?
I absolutely love Tigi and Catwalk's shampoos and conditioners. I use Catwalk's Oatmeal and Honey shampoo and conditioner (smells awesome - like a cinnamon raisin cookie). I alternate that with Tigi's Moisture Maniac shampoo and conditioner every few months, just for variety. They are both great. Tigi/Catwalk is one of the cheaper professional lines...so this might work the best for you?

Also, the Halo brand shampoos and conditioners are all color safe, and I use their clarifying shampoo once a week. That's a good brand as well.Color safe shampoo and conditioner?
try keratin intensive from the face shop they are the best i used %26amp; bona cure
Redken shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair is fantastic. You can buy it from a salon and its not as expensive as Aveda or Keratase.

Is it safe to use a synthetic shampoo to get rid of your acne?

I read about using a Head %26amp; Shoulders shampoo to get rid of acne right here http://www.myhomeremedies.com/remedy.cgi?remedyid=1801%26amp;page=1.

However, since it is a synthetic shampoo,is it safe to be applied onto your face? Because I actually have acne on my face, not on the other parts of the body.

Do you have any effective home remedies for getting rid of acne and acne scars???Is it safe to use a synthetic shampoo to get rid of your acne?
Safe but not highly effective. The active ingredient Pyrithione Zinc is not a common acne treater. Benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid based products are commonly used for acne. H and S will work for dry, flaky skin on other body parts though. Is it safe to use a synthetic shampoo to get rid of your acne?
I'd be wary of this. It might get rid of your acne, but it's likely to damage your skin if it's put on regularly.

Homemade facials actually do quite a good job in getting rid of acne: apply the facial, leave it on until it feels stiff on your face and then wash with warm water; and then apply cold water to your face.

That said, prescribed acne treatment does usually work better than homemade remedies.
I can't say much for the scars. you can use dawn a couple times a week. you need to eat seeds and nuts. you also needs to start taking a full vitamin B with all of your vitamin B's also Vitamin E oxy works the best for cream. the sun can help clear up your face as well as swimming in a pool. if you use dawn make sure you use a wash rag with a good lather of soap and water. leave in on no longer than a min. and wash it off good.

Is it safe to use a clarifying shampoo daily?

or will it give me major dandruff and really oily hair? would that not happen if i use a natural boar bristle brush to distribute my natural hair oils?Is it safe to use a clarifying shampoo daily?
it is safe but terrible for your hair. clarifyers are meant to remove build-up from products or impurities like chlorine. constant use will make the hair brittle and dull. once a week is all you need and always follow with a conditionerIs it safe to use a clarifying shampoo daily?
i don't think its healthy to shampoo your hair everyday.

you lose natural oils and nutrients that you need in your hair regularly

Is hartz flea and tick shampoo safe for my dog. I used it once and now am a little worried I made a bad choic

I always tell people to stay away from Hartz products.

Here is more information on why its a bad choice.

http://www.hartzvictims.org/Is hartz flea and tick shampoo safe for my dog. I used it once and now am a little worried I made a bad choic
Do NOT use any OTC flea products..this includes shampoo %26amp; flea collars (especially Hartz). These products aren't very effective and they are very dangerous to your pet..they can cause skin irritations, skin burns, seizures, neurological issues %26amp; death. Stick with flea products from your vet. They are safe, effective and guaranteed by the drug company that makes them.Is hartz flea and tick shampoo safe for my dog. I used it once and now am a little worried I made a bad choic
i use it all the time. Ive tried the expensive vet meds they might work two possibly three weeks and then stop. the problem is they say you cant use anything else for a month. so i use the shampoo once a week and it seems to control her fleas.
i know hartz was recalled last year but they put it back on the market and i have used it on my cats prior but i dont like because it dont work at all
A national brand with national organizations watching it - can't get much safer than that.
I'm not sure, but don't EVER put any of those store bought flea medications on your pet. It could kill him.

Is it safe to continue this egg yolk thing or should I just go back to shampoo. Is it safe to avoid shampoo?
That sounds kinda gross...so how does your hair smell? Is it safe to avoid shampoo?
And are your co-workers, neighbors, spouse, friends..ok will the horrible smell?
cleanliness is best for fallin hair, wht ur doin is worst 4 it
I don't know, I've never heard of that, why don't you get a shampoo that's supposed to grow hair like Rogaine?
um thats what doctors are for..

    go see one
ew! freakin shampoo and go to the doctors
I would see a doctor about that!
i would def. stop and go back to shampoo.
Stop and go back to shampoo and conditioner. Nixxon can help with hair loss. If you continue to lose hair, I would see a doctor.

Is it true that flea and tick shampoo is safe to use on a human to treat head lice?

No silly... visit a pharmacist to get a special shampoo for head lice !Is it true that flea and tick shampoo is safe to use on a human to treat head lice?
You can find shampoo for lice at the drug store or any store that carries shampoos. The name is RID, it is special for this purpose. Is it true that flea and tick shampoo is safe to use on a human to treat head lice?
why would you want to do that when you can purchase the proper thing to help yourself. check the web page below
No. Definitely not. The pesticide shampoos you find in your pharmacy have been proven safe for use by humans if the directions are followed precisely. Here is my advice for getting rid if head lice.

I just went through this a couple of months ago and it took nine days to get rid of it. Only nine days. This might sound like a long time, but this is a time consuming task, but well worth it!! I will tell you what I did. Because these are bugs, I destroyed their home. They live on my and my child's head. I did treat with Rid, then started with the nit comb. I could not believe it, but even after the shampoo treatment, there were still LIVE BUGS crawling around in my child's hair!!! Come to find out, this treatment can take up to three days to work. I decided right then I could not rely on anything but myself. I got a bunch of bobby pins and started to work. TWICE A DAY EVERY DAY FOR 10 DAYS I parted combed and manually removed ALL NITS AND BUGS from both of my daughter's hair. Every time I found one, I was genuinely surprised. I thought I had gotten them all. But even after 2 days of not finding anything, there was that little black speck that would move if touched. It must have been a nit that I missed, or a bug that moved into the hair I already checked when I wasn't looking. Very easy to do. Yes, these things move, that is why you must be diligent and check EVERY DAY. After the ten days (the last 4 not finding anything), I checked every other day. After I was sure they were gone, I still check my kid's hair about weekly. Thank Goodness I have found nothing.

After using the Rid and waiting the prescribed 3 days, we did mayo treatments with REAL mayo and left it on for 3-4 hours. This will smother any of the critters and kill them. I did this treatment 3 times. It makes your hair really soft and is a moiserizer for your scalp to aid in the scalp damage from the pesticide shampoo you are using. Use the Rid again after 7 days. Put away all of your dolls, and stuffed animals until you have completely gotten rid of all bugs and have been nit free for 10 days. Strip you bedding, pillowcases and pillows and put it in the DRYER for 30 minutes to kill any stray bugs every day for 10 days. Wash in hot water once a week. Vacuum couches and floors every day for 10 days. Put all hair care things into two sealed plastic bags after dipping them into water that was boiling, but removed from the burner for 5 minutes after uses for 10 days. Remember to vacuum your car, car seats, etc. and it helps to expose it to the freezing air too.

You must check everyone's hair every day. If you keep taking out everything you find every day, they will be gone faster.

When reading the web site provided below, pay attention to the life span of these little critters. After hours of research on the internet, I found this one most helpful.

    Good luck and God bless.
The best thing to get rid of head lice is olive oil. saturate the head and leave on for an hr. with a shower cap over it then take off and use a lice comb to remove all eggs and nits. It really does ork very well. It is the best thing next to kerosene that they used back in the old days. Try it..it is very inexpensive and it works better then any live products u will buy.
they make a shampoo for humans called Nix for that.
Ouch! I wouldn't use it. You'd be running a big risk of inflaming your scalp with the chemicals used in it.

In any case it's not designed to specifically to kill head lice. What kills on type of insect doesn't necessarily kill another type. It might kill them off but it might just make them feel a little queasy.

If you want to use a shampoo try a coal tar one like Denorex. You'll need to buy the therapeutic version. Lather up and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Do it for 3 days running.
I wouldn't use any head lice shampoo, a few of the shampoos have been linked to possible cause of luekaemia in children.

Tea tree effectively treats head lice, add some pure drops of the oil to shampoo, it works a treat.

I'm 3 months pregnant & I have gestational diabetes. Is it safe to use shampoo that has paraphenylenediamine?

Is it safe to dye my hair with commercial hair coloring kits available in the supermarket?I'm 3 months pregnant %26amp; I have gestational diabetes. Is it safe to use shampoo that has paraphenylenediamine?
If you go to the salon you can ask them to use foil or just get highlights and that will help minimize the absorption.

My doctor told me ';only if you have something REALLY important'; and I got permission to have my hair done for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary, lol. I was 5 months along by then. I just didn't want to be in all those photos looking like the pregnant bag lady!I'm 3 months pregnant %26amp; I have gestational diabetes. Is it safe to use shampoo that has paraphenylenediamine?
Some people do it, but I would avoid it if you can. Any way you can just stick to henna for the rest of the pregnancy?
I would definitely as your OB or nurse about that.
Ask your doctor if it safe for you

Is it safe to use a human dandruff shampoo on our dog?

We've been up, down and around with vets, and have ultimately been told that our dog has allergies. We can't cure him, only try to treat the symptoms. The dog has terrible dandruff; can I use TGel on him?Is it safe to use a human dandruff shampoo on our dog?
No, its not. The pH of human shampoo is not right for a dog and can cause skin irritation, dry skin, and even hair loss. Baby shampoos that should be mild are the worst, actually, for use on a dog. Most dandruff shampoos are actually harsh on human skin, so it is not something I would suggest for your dog.

If you want to bathe your dog, I would suggest using a good quality dog shampoo. My personal favorite is HyLyte because it smells very tropical, like coconut, and has essential fatty acids within the shampoo to moisturize the skin and coat. Your veterinarian may carry this if you are interested. Your veterinarian also may carry a line of prescription shampoos that are aimed toward dogs with allergies. Look into it.

Your dog's coat is managed by the essensial fatty acids linoleic acid and linolenic acid. Using a diet supplement like Derm Caps (a capsule once or twice a day) or ProDerm (a powder you sprinkle over your dog's food twice a day) can also help with the skin. These two products are great and contain those essential fatty acids, as well as omega fatty acids. ProDerm also has some other nutrient additives. Either way, using a coat enhancing/skin nurishing supplement may help out - just make sure they are canine specific and are more natural so as not to make your dog's allergies worse.

BTW, if your dog has atopy (which is inhaled allergens) talk to your vet about Atopica, a cyclosporin medication that is wonderful! If your dog has food allergies, try venison or duck or rabbit based diets, or even a prescription diet like z/d where the proteins that your dog most likely is allergic to are so small they do not cause a reaction. If your dog has flea allergies, try this great new product called Comfortis - a pill that lasts for 1 month, and starts killing fleas within 4 hours. It is a miracle worker. You could also try a veterinary dermatologist for allergy testing and have desensitization serum produced for your dog - so you would give a shot of what actually causes the reaction within your dog in small amounts to make your dog 'less' allergic to them. If you are using a plastic bowl for food and/or water, change to metal bowls as dogs can be allergic to the plastic. If your dog has environmental allergies, wipe his feet everytime he comes in from the outdoors, try benadryl or if this no longer works, there is also a drug called Temeril P that is lower steroids than Prednisone but is effective. There are always paths to be found. If you want any information on the products or have any questions about allergies, email me.Is it safe to use a human dandruff shampoo on our dog?
I would just call and ask because you will get a split decision on yahoo, but I use head and shoulders on my furry friend without a problem.
My vet recommended Selsun Blue for our dachshund when he thought she had skin allergies going on. It might help yours, it didn't help her, as that wasn't the problem. Instead we had a nasty black mold problem in that house and were unaware. It was making all of us sick, just affecting her the worst.
God No!!!! go to the vet and ask for mala-wash or if it's extream, malaseb. cheaper option is to use a soap free shampoo like Fido's oatmeal and baking soda.
i don't believe so. dogs skin is very diferent than human scalp. it may only increase the issue.
human skin and dog skin is soo different. its really important that you dond can really harm them. human skin can take a lot more as it is exposed to alot more elements than dogs as we dont have fur protecting ours all the time. what plants do you have in your garden? is there a lot of wandering jew or ivy? our jack russel was allergic to both and we had to remove it all to stop his rasges and itching, allong with quartozone cream.
We have a 12 year old corgi with allergies and we have always used head and shoulders on him.
    Yes
Nooope you need to get special dog shampoo easy to get from pet stores or vets.
No they are too harsh, call your vet and get some good medicated shampoo, this way it will treat the problem and wont hurt the dogs skin.

there are some good dog shampoo's out there, but a human one is too drying and may cause worse skin and dander problems.......

Pets mart specialist will be able to steer you in the right direction...........they really know the products and wont have you buy something just to be selling it to you..
No! I used tea tree oil shampoo for my dog when his skin was irritated which worked really well snd smelled lovely! The vet also gave him a good shampoo, I dont remember what it was called.
You could use an all organic shampoo on it, but it might not work. Its best to go to the vet and get one prescribed.
