Is it environmentally safe to shampoo the carpets?

I would call a carpet cleaning company....ask for green products to clean your carpet.....My husband and I have owned a cleaning and restoration business for the past three years...we only use green products...we don't use harsh chemicals or products that contain VOCs ( Cancer causing vapors) ....Is it environmentally safe to shampoo the carpets?
Actually, many home products still contain toxic substances. They don't have to list these substances because they are proprietary formulas.

You still can shampoo your carpets, but instead of using shampoo, consider a steamer that uses super hot water to kill the bad stuff, dissolve the dirt and suck it out.

These steamers often can be rented at local hardware stores. Just call ahead.

If you want to use a shampoo, search ';carpet shampoo nontoxic'; at Google for some of your options.

We all want to believe that the government wouldn't let us use toxic products in our home, but frankly we're still learning what a lot of these chemicals do to our bodies. I used to be allowed to play with mercury in school; now we know it's dangerous. Play it safe with a nontoxic option because you'll be breathing within a few feet of that carpet for years to come.Is it environmentally safe to shampoo the carpets?
With MOST products developed for inside your home today, they are ';green'; or enviro friendly. I think even the foaming oven cleaners today are not toxic....
yes
