Is it safe to use a sample bottle of panteene pro v shampoo on dogs?

I used the little sample bottle on my lab-border collie mix last ngiht for her bath. And now i'm noticing her hair is coming out in clumps. What should I do to stop it?Is it safe to use a sample bottle of panteene pro v shampoo on dogs?
Argh

YES it's safe. The pH difference between all land mammals is NOMINAL. People who show their dogs bathe their dogs weekly with Pantene. Unless your dog has super sensitive skin, it's not going to do any harm.

The pH difference crap was invented by pet supply companies so you feel compelled to use expensive pet shampoo. Dog food companies do the same thing, but people feed raw food with no issues.

Use the Pantene. It's not going to hurt the dog.

ETA: The clumpy hair is probably the tail end of her fall molt. Just brush out the clumps. Is it safe to use a sample bottle of panteene pro v shampoo on dogs?
no it wasn't safe because the ph balance is different in people shampoo and dog shampoo. but usually people shampoo would just effect the dog's skin, causing it to be itchy and/or raw.

I'm not sure panteene alone caused clumps to come out, I think there's another problem going on and would see a vet if you see any bald spots.

Are you bathing your dog often? They should only get a bath at the most every 2 weeks and every 3 weeks if exposed to indoor heating alot.

Hair loss signifies a vitamin deficiencyor allergic reactions.. start with nutrition..feed a high quality dog food (with no corn in the ingredients or other junk possibly allergen fillers) and give a raw egg once a week.

add: Meagan has no clue what she's talking about. Ask any licensed dog groomer or the vet. And dog food is nowhere near human food, geez..stop giving bad advice.

If you continue to notice clumps of hair coming out that's not normal and it's probably allergies that has nothing to do with the pantene.
Take some dish soap and wash it out then use a soothing dog conditioner to help the skin.

Human shampoo and dog shampoo are formulated specifically for the animal skin types. Dog shampoo is easier on the skin so is harmless if used on people. Human shampoo is more acidic (I think...or basic but i'm sure its more acidic) which can dry the crap out of a dog's skin.

EDIT:

the person waay above me is talking about Main N Tail (%26amp; body). It is a shampoo/conditioner formulated for horses and other animals but works great on people too. It can be bough at Safeway, Sally's and most feed stores. Its the same formula for humans and animals so don't worry about which one you pick up.

take your dog to a vet.. human shampoo should never be used on a dog.. dog skin and human skin is different.. the PH levels are different. Human shampoo is balanced for humans.. your dog may be having a chemical reaction to the shampoo.

ADDED

I know someone who used human shampoo on their dog, and the animal needed to be put to sleep because it had such a severe reaction to the shampoo!
No, It dries their skin out, and plus they could have an allergic reaction to it. If you must use people shampoo, buy tail and mane. But I would use dog shampoo on your dog.

hmm I've used Johnson %26amp; Johnson No Tears Baby Shampoo, it seems to do a good enough job... but I was using it on my Poodle - not sure if that makes a difference.
No it's not safe to use human shampoo on dogs...our shampoo strips out the natural oils that dogs need in their fur. Get some real dog shampoo.
No. It dries there skin, and if they get it into there eyes it could get a bad infection.
no
